Hi, I'm Flora!

I’m a self-professed bon vivant. I live life to the fullest, love deeply, laugh out loud, and put my heart and soul into all that I do. I love being creative, travelling, and eating anything covered in pesto.

Born in British Columbia, Canada, I grew up surrounded by nature, music and lots of love. My spiritual journey started young. At age 15 when my friends were reading teen magazines, I was reading Siddhartha, The Prophet, The Power of Myth, and The Spiral Dance.

Throughout my 20’s I continued my deep soul searching to understand myself, human consciousness and the meaning of life.

My spiritual longing and wanderlust took me around the world. I went to Colorado to study sound healing with Jonathan Goldman, and braved the conditions four times to immerse myself in the radical art community of Burning Man in Nevada. I visited volcanic power centres in Guatemala and danced at full moon beach parties in Thailand. I practiced Kundalini yoga and also performed with my band, singing in front of thousands of people.

Despite all this exploration, when I turned 30 I was still unsatisfied with my life. From the outside, I had things pretty good: a nice house and boyfriend, a decent job and even regular music gigs on the side.

I felt guilty for wanting more. I constantly wondered, “What’s wrong with me?” 

To open my mind to the possibilities, I first analyzed what were my true desires versus what I thought I should want or have. That was an eye-opening experience. From that point on, I began to steer my life in the direction I wanted to go.

I started studying marketing and business in 2007. I learned the ins and outs of social media & email marketing, PR and Media Relations, and community building with my own music career. I then went back to school for Arts Administration, specializing in Marketing Communications, Outreach, and Development. I worked for some of the top Arts organizations in Vancouver, BC.

It took a lot of courage to change.

Shifting your mindset and transforming your life isn’t something you can do over a weekend.

Now, I am truly living my dream. My frustration and discontent is gone. Ailments I had for years have disappeared. I am happily married to my soulmate and mama to an incredible son.

As a Spiritual Life & Business Coach, I inspire women to awaken to their potential, embody their wisdom, and step into their power to create a life and work they love. I am passionate about helping disconnected women hear their soul’s voice, liberate themselves from feeling held back, and live life by design not default.

I have been participating in women’s circles since 1993. At that early age I learned the art of ceremonies and ritual from Dorianne Kohl, who apprenticed with Hyemeyosts Storm, author of Seven Arrows. In 2004, I received my sound healing certification from Jonathan Goldman’s Healing Sounds Intensive, and have taught Spirit Voice workshops to hundreds of participants since that time.

I continue to fuel my passion for learning and growing in this field.  I have studied with psychologist and author Dr Jean Shinoda Bolen (Goddesses in Everywoman), and participated in apprentice training with Elayne Kalila’s Priestess Presence Temple. I learned the art of leading virtual circles from my mentor Sora Surya No, taking her Sacred Circle Foundations course. I have also studied and coached with the Profit Priestess and Business Witch, Kristen Jett

In addition to moon rituals and deep conversations with my soul sisters, I love hiking, swimming, dancing, singing, and cooking dinner in my Hawaiian apron.

Hi, I'm Kristy!

I’m an energetic, smoothie-loving mom who cannot resist anything chocolate peanut butter, alt rock and being outdoors. I’m passionate about helping women regain their fitness and fabulousness. I’m a Strength Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Core Rehab Specialist.

I was born and raised in southern Ontario, where I grew up with my younger sister and handicapped brother. Caring for my brother had a profound effect on my life as it taught me about patience, empathy and compassion at a young age, and most importantly, it taught me that life, and our health, is precious.

Growing up, I played every sport, was on every school athletic team, and then got hooked on strength-training at the age of 18.

After high school I went to college with my sights set on getting into law enforcement. Three grueling years later, I graduated from Sheridan College’s Police Foundations program only to be denied employment as a Police Officer due to a vision impairment. Dreams crushed, I worked a number of unsatisfying jobs, trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

I took a leap of faith and moved to BC in 2006 when I was 27. This decision changed my life.

Given my love of fitness, I realized that my true calling was combining my passion for health with my desire to help other people. I then began certifying to become a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach.

I have spent the past decade upgrading my skills and pursuing my passion for health and wellness and have never looked back. I hold BCRPA certifications in: Weight Training, Personal Training, and Older Adult Fitness (55+). I have a Sport Science Diploma specializing in human anatomy, sports and nutrition. I am also certified through Bellies, INC, as a Core Rehab Specialist.

Perfecting the 20-30 minute in-home or outdoor workout has change my perspective on what can be achieved with limited time and space.  I can now balance my exercise and self-care with my other priorities: my family and my career. If I am not happy and healthy, I am not at my best with my loved ones or myself.

Since becoming a mom, I now realize that staying fit and feeling good in my body does not require long hours in the gym or fancy equipment.

In today’s fast-paced world, scheduling “me-time” is so important and hard to come by. But, that very act is what keeps us sane, happy and better equipped to handle each day, no matter what life throws our way. I want to share my knowledge, my passion and my enthusiasm to help others achieve optimal health and live their best life.

Combine an effective exercise routine with proper nutrition, a few basic supplements and a meaningful spiritual practice and you have the perfect prescription for optimal health.

In my spare time, when I’m not weight training or inspiring others to live healthier lives, I enjoy playing softball, biking around town with Flora and our young son, hiking, swimming, rollerblading, kayaking, snowshoeing, skiing or skating – enjoying all the seasons to the fullest.
